The Digital Predator: How AI is Being Used for Sexual Harassment


We've recently been taken aback by news of artificial intelligence (AI) being misused for sexual harassment. The news spread quickly, causing concern for many people. One of the most disturbing cases involves the use of deepfake technology to create fake nude photos and videos of children at a school.

It's ironic that a technology intended to benefit human civilization is being used for such destructive purposes. I am strongly against the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for sexual harassment. This happens because it violates the privacy of people who have been hurt and can hurt their mental and emotional well-being. This crime must be stopped.

Why is this happening? 

There are a few things that can lead to people using AI in the wrong way to sexually harass others, especially deepfakes, which are videos that are made to look like real-life videos; easy access; deepfake tools are becoming easier for the public to access; lack of regulation; there are no clear and strict rules about using AI, there are no rules about what is right and wrong or what is fair and not fair with respect to AI; and fast technology improvements. Even though there has been fast progress in AI technology, most people still don't understand how it can have negative consequences.

The Horrific Impact on Victims.

When artificial intelligence is not used correctly, it can have a very negative effect on people, especially when it is used for sexual harassment. Victims, especially children, can suffer from deep trauma, loss of self-confidence, and mental health issues. Their reputation can also be ruined. This crime not only harms people, but it also puts our digital spaces at risk. If this continues, no one will feel safe online.

What Can We Do?

There are a few steps we can take to solve this problem:

  1. Education and Awareness.
  2. Strict regulation
  3.  New anti-deepfake technology.
  4. support for victims of deepfake videos. 

AI is a tool that, like a knife, can be used for good or evil. We have the power to shape the future of this technology. It is crucial that we ensure that AI is used exclusively for positive purposes in order to promote the advancement of civilization and the well-being of all.
